Morgan County Autism Foundation

Our organization was formed in March of 2008 by a group of parents, educators, and members from our corporate community for the purpose of finding a way to raise awareness and funding for educational resources and training for teachers and parents in Morgan County.

What is Autism?

Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder that affects a person’s ability to interact with others. Autism is a “spectrum disorder” meaning it affects individuals differently and to varying degrees. Two individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can appear completely different from each other and have different abilities. Today 1 in 150 children are being diagnosed with ASD making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined.
